(Video) Unboxing Kalklitir Limewash Paint

As promised, I’m unboxing the mystery package from Belgium and explaining how the contents are going to help us make our 1990’s builder-grade house feel like an 1890’s farmhouse.

The Dream, and the Reality

When we were looking for our homestead, I dreamed about being on many acres and having a big, historic farmhouse. That’s a beautiful dream I still hold, but not realistic for us, at least not right now. So we settled with shy of two acres and a 1990s builder-grade home.

I’m never one to accept things passively, so I’ve been planning how we can make this place feel like a historic farmhouse. Much of the beauty is in the details. Like the plastic walls.

Enter Kalklitir, a Scandinavian company that makes limewash paint. I search high and low for this kind of natural, matte paint in the US, but I couldn’t find a reliable source. I did find this great company in Europe though.

Check out the video for more details on limewash paint.
