Why High Mowing?
I love this company for both their high-quality organic seeds and their mission. They are committed to re-building food systems that support health on both a personal and ecological level. This really resonates with me as a homesteader and cancer survivor.
The Seeds
In this order I’ve got a 5lb bag of cover crop mix, which is hairy vetch and winter rye. These cover crops combine to give great nourishment to my garden soil and protect it from winter rains and snow.
Cold-hardy salad mixes! These blends are great because with one sowing, you get a wide variety of plants. They are a cut-and-come-again style which means you can get more than one harvest from the same crop. Because the varieties are cold-hardy, I should be able to keep these babies growing into fall and winter with a little extra planning.
