Recently we brought you on a field trip to Hawthorn Farm, where Alexia shared with us how she and her community are turning suburbia into a permaculture paradise. On that visit we also filmed her making a very easy recipe for garlic goat cheese spread. In this video we are going to share the step-by-step process.

There are no specific measurements, Alexia just goes by feel. If you aren’t confident with cooking from scratch, garlic goat cheese is a great place to start!
Garlic Goat Cheese Spread

EQUIPMENT
Cutting board
Sharp kitchen knife
Blender or food processor
Jar
Non-metallic lid
INGREDIENTS
Goat cheese (soft and/or feta)
Water or cheese brine
Garlic
Olives, peppers, or other extras
DIRECTIONS
Put some garlic in blender or food processor.
Pulse until chopped.
Add some cheese.
Pulse until blended.
If it’s too thick, add water or brine, a little at a time.
Add olives, peppers, or other extras.
Blend until desired thickness.
Adjust the amount of ingredients until it reaches a flavor you like.
Serving Suggestions
You can adjust this recipe to make endless variations, just depending on the season or what you have on hand. It’s great as dip for veggies, on crackers, or in a sandwich!

You can make this with home-grown items or store-bought ingredients.
